(UPDATED) NAGA CITY — In an interview at the CASURECO II Main Compound in Del Rosario, Naga City on Monday, CASURECO II General Manager Emelita E. Candia, announced that the electric cooperative struck a deal with a new power supplier, PSALM Corporation or the Power Sector Assets & Liabilities Managerment Corporation, for a 10-megawatt (MW) supply for a 1-year period.
Candia further added that new power supplier’s generation cost will be much lower, at around Php 5.00 per kW, and is expected to take effect within the first quarter of this year.
The electric cooperative has been in talks with a number of suppliers since last year to supply the utility with much lower rates.
CASURECO II’s power rates is currently at more than Php 17.00 per kWh for residential consumers this January 2023, and is the highest among the 4 electric utilities in the province of Camarines Sur.
